Our Ongoing Story
The Church exists because we have a God who’s active and earnest in saving people out of their guilt and corruption. Jesus Christ stooped down and carried the death penalty we deserved for our wrongs, in order to bring us into eternal favor and forgiveness with God. Everyone who trusts in Jesus for this saving work enjoys a place in the body of Christ, the Church. And for the past two thousand years, the Church of Christ has endured and expanded, as Jesus continues to govern and guide his Church today from heaven.
The Great Lakes Presbytery is a regional manifestation of the Church, as a Presbytery of the Presbyterian Church in America (PCA). The Great Lakes Presbytery was established in 1982 with the joining and receiving of the RPCES into the PCA. The geographic bounds of the Presbytery currently includes the state of Michigan and several counties in northern Indiana. For the past years, the Great Lakes Presbytery has been active in planting new churches. We’re excited to see what the Lord does in the years ahead.
